Base LLM(基础语言模型)和Instruction Tuned LLM(指令调优语言模型)是对语言模型进行不同训练和微调策略的术语。下面是它们的区别

  • 基础语言模型(Base LLM):Base LLM是指在大规模语料库上进行预训练的通用语言模型,如GPT-3。它通过在大量的互联网文本上进行自监督学习,学习语言的统计规律和语义关系。Base LLM具有广泛的语言理解能力,并且能够生成合乎语法和语义的文本回复。它可以用于各种自然语言处理任务,但在某些特定任务上可能需要进一步微调以提高性能。

  • 指令调优语言模型(Instruction Tuned LLM):Instruction Tuned LLM是指在Base LLM的基础上,通过特定指令或任务进行进一步微调的语言模型。在指令调优阶段,模型接受特定领域或任务相关的指令和样本数据进行微调,以提高在该特定领域或任务上的性能。这样的微调过程可以帮助模型更好地适应特定领域的语言特点、上下文和任务要求,从而提供更准确和专业化的输出。

对于英文的输入: 1 token大约是4字符,对于一个单词来说,1个token大约是一个单词的4分之3。
