TheLM2587seriesofregulatorsaremonolithicintegrated
circuitsspecificallydesignedforflyback,step-up(boost),and
iceisavailablein4
differentoutputvoltageversions:3.3V,5.0V,12V,andadjust-
able.
Requiringaminimumnumberofexternalcomponents,these
regulatorsarecosteffective,edin
thedatasheetaretypicalcircuitsofboostandflybackregula-
stedareselectorguidesfordiodesandcapacitors
andafamilyofstandardinductorsandflybacktransformers
designedtoworkwiththeseswitchingregulators.
Thepowerswitchisa5.0ANPNdevicethatcanstand-off
tingthepowerswitcharecurrentandthermal
limitingcircuits,
containsa100kHzfixed-frequencyinternaloscillatorthat
eaturesinclude
softstartmodetoreducein-rushcurrentduringstartup,cur-
rentmodecontrolforimprovedrejectionofinputvoltageand
outputvoltagetoleranceof
±
4%,withinspecifiedinputvolt-
agesandoutputloadconditions,isguaranteedforthepower
supplysystem.
