How to Password protect a particular Column OR Row in Excel?

http://www.excel-formulas/sample-question/Password-Protect-Particular-Column-or-Row-in-Excel

Answer

By default all the cells in a sheet are protected when you ‘lock the sheet’. So you need to start by un-protecting all the cells.

Begin by selecting all the cells and then selecting ‘Format Cells’ from the right click menu

Then select the ‘Protection’ tab and uncheck the ‘Locked’ checkbox

Then select only the cells you want to protect and repeat the process, only this time turn the ‘Locked’ attribute back on

Finally… select the ‘Protect Sheet’ option from the Review ribbon, enter a password and Voila, your selected cells are protected.
