DELL R720服务器 U盘 重装系统避坑

按网上的文章都讲的很简单, 也就是F10进入LifeCycle Controller设置 deploy OS

然后F11直接U盘启动, 可是我点deployOS的时候遇到如下提醒

Warning
OS Deployment
Unable to find a device capable of reading the operating system media.
Do the following and reboot the system:
1. Install an optical device or enable iDRAC virtual media.
2.Verify that an optical device is enabled in the BlOS.

Do you want to reboot now?
Yes No

 

U盘插入的, 就是不识别

 you need to change the iDRAC setting virtual media from "Auto Attach" to Attach.

iDRAC功能默认都是关闭，需要在BIOS里面启用，首先重启计算机，按“F2”然后进入BIOS，选择“iDRAC Setting”进行iDRAC配置, 亲测了一下,果然有效

F11进入 LifeCycle Controller设置 可以看到 iDRAC配置,点进去就可以看到 virtual media 的配置

 

 

 

然后配置操作系统

 Configure RAID and Deploy an Operation System, 由于我的服务器出厂时配置好了raid5,所以忽略, 仅配置操作系统即可,选择最下面的其它操作系统

 

然后遇到 Meida not found .Plaease insert a media and retry 警告, 虽然我已经插了U盘 这个警告可以不用管它, ok后重启服务器, 按F11或者不按, 我也搞不清楚哪个起作用了, 重启后就显示了bios配置, 让我选择启动盘, 我选择了正确的U盘 , U盘是通过 ventory-1.0.15.zip 软件制作的启动盘, 上面有 操作系统安装文件  CentOS-7-x86_64-DVD-2207-02.iso

选择后, 就开始正式进入安装流程了.
