The requirement is to disable the end users of the PCs ( Windows 7 and Possibly XP) from creating subfolders with a set root folder. The IT team wants to restrict users to creating documents within certain predefined folders only - but the users are not supposed to create sub folders. Is it possible to use GP to accomplish this? If not is it possible to what a client application to do it? We have a client application which does some other functionality that is already on the users PCs and we can enhance it to enforce this ... but I am looking about if it is feasible to impose such control.

1. Create the folder 2. right-click > properties 3. select the security tab 4. click advanced button 5. change the permissions. See the pic. The option to not allow folder creation is there
