When I try to add a new item in Visual Studio 2015 and select the 'Online Tab', it simply displays "No items found."

I really wanted to create a text document however I cannot get online items. I have XNA Game Studio 4 installed as well. And I don't appear to have the 'Microsoft ASP.NET Core' however I do have the 'Microsoft ASP.NET Web Framework and Tools' and the 'Microsoft ASP.NET and Web Tools.'

I have tested on my VS 2015 and reproduced this issue successfully:

So I help you submit a feedback through internal way, In VS, you can go to Help>Send Feedback> Report a Problem to search for the title " add a new online item in web application, but no item found" as below:

You can vote it if necessary, VS product team engineers will evaluate it seriously.

You need to install .NET Core Preview and SDK additionally from .NET Core Runtime and SDK download archive.

Visual Studio 2015 will only support .NET Core <= 1.1 (ie. project.json). If you wish to use .csproj based .NET Core projects you will need to use Visual Studio 2017. You can read about the .NET Core Roadmap here.
