hi all I have an application(developed with ADO 4).. when i copy this application to another computer (which has the MSDE 2000 installed on it) and when i run the services ...my question is how to make the msde 2000 know the database which the application will uses. thanks for any help

You cannot put a newer version of a database file on a lower version server. I just tried the same thing last week. One thing that you could do is to export the schema and then also select to export all of the data as well. Export them as a script that you can then run on MSDE 2000. Keep in mind that you will not be able to use any of the newer features like XML, geospacial coordinates, etc that 2008 could use. Good Luck.
