I am a beginner and the last time I did any sort of programming was while I was in school many moons ago. I loved the simplicity of VB 6. I downloaded the newest VB Community for Mac and have to say it is quite intimidating. Are there any add-ins, extensions, etc., that will give me that old VB 6 look and feel? Thank you in advance.

Did you install VS 2017 community from there: visualstudio.microsoft/vs/community/ ?

In VS 2017, we've made it easier for you to select and install just the features you need.you can use it to customize your installation by selecting the feature sets—or workloads—that you want in installer windows.

Here's how. choose the ".NET desktop development" workload. It comes with the default core editor, which includes basic code editing support for over 20 languages, and UWP workload could support to develop VB project. you select the workload(s) you want, clickInstall.
